Surface preparation is by far the most important factor affecting the performance of a coating or lining. Adequate surface preparation is absolutely essential to the satisfactory performance of most coatings and linings, and any compromise in surface preparation typically compromises the performance of the applied material.
Quality Assurance Hold Point Inspection is the process by which M³ ICI verifies that the coating or lining work performed by the supplier is in accordance with the project specifications and selected procedures.
Hold point examples are as follows:
Prior to the start of work
Immediately following the surface preparation
Immediately prior to the coating or lining application
Following the application of each coat
Following the curing of the coating or lining
Final inspection or sign-off, in accordance with the project requirements
